The Tuscan Maremma

The area of production of the DOC wines of Tuscan Maremma is located in the southern part of the Toscana region and covers the whole province of Grosseto, one of the largest Italian provinces. The rolling hills of the inner land outline a typical Tuscan landscape, where grapefruit and olives are grown, raising north west towards the Metallifere Hills, and north east towards the Amiata Mount, a volcano now dormant for centuries. On the offshoots of the Volsini Mounts, east of the Fiora river, lie hills and plateaus characterized by volcanic soils and typical small villages perched on the tuff rocks. The coastline, with its vast pine forests and areas of extraordinary naturalistic importance, makes the completion of the Maremma landscape.

A land waiting to be discovered, in some areas still uncontaminated, rich in history and culture, between hills and sea.

A land devoted, with the ancient knowledge and talent of its people, to vine growing and wine production since the time of the Etruscans.

This is the Tuscan Maremma.
